With Version 6.1, we can expect a host of exciting new features that will make working with the software even more user-friendly and efficient. Revised user authentication

WoltLab Suite 6.1 sees a comprehensive overhaul of user authentication to make it more user-friendly and secure. A simplified layout for the login and registration form provides a better user experience, while multi-factor authentication gets a new, more intuitive interface.

Comparison of contribution versions

The revised system for comparing contribution versions now not only offers a source code comparison, but also a preview of the final presentation in the browser. This makes it easier to track changes, especially for complex formatted contributions.

New ACP dashboard

The dashboard of the administration interface has been fundamentally revised in WoltLab Suite 6.1. Instead of static content, there are now dynamic boxes that can be customised and expanded. This provides a much better overview and more flexibility for administrators.

Redesign of the member list

The member list has been modernised both visually and functionally. In addition to a more attractive design, user-friendliness has also been improved, in particular through simplified interaction with the list, both in the desktop and mobile view.

The list of recent activities has also been given a fresh design, which ensures a more compact and clearer presentation. Links have been reduced to focus on the most important content and the presentation has been adapted to the current design.

Upload pipeline

The new upload pipeline allows files to be uploaded and processed more efficiently. Thanks to the "chunked upload" process, files larger than 2.1 GB can now also be uploaded without any problems. This ensures less server load and faster processing of files.

WoltLab Suite 6.1 also brings significant performance improvements. Large amounts of data and forums with many pages in particular benefit from optimised loading times and faster page load times. These improvements also have a positive effect on search engine rankings.

Our plugins

When will the 6.1 versions be released?

The Top 40 of our most popular plugins will already be available in the store from the final release of WoltLab Suite 6.1. All other plugins will follow gradually. If you are waiting for a specific plugin, you can contact us at any time so that we can bring the update forward.

Will there be update prices?

We have developed a fair update price concept that covers the increased testing and maintenance effort for each new release. Main plugins receive a fixed update price, while additional extensions remain free of charge. This means that most of our plugin updates are free of charge. Transparent and calculable update prices are important to us, which is why there will soon be another blog post explaining our concept in detail.

Will there also be new functions?

Our focus has been on integrating the new features of 6.0 and 6.1 into our plugins, which not only improves security and performance, but also further reduces the maintenance effort so that future feature updates can be implemented more easily. Nevertheless, there will also be new functions and noticeable improvements for some plugins. We have even prepared a big surprise for Aivor and Fake users - there will be more details on this in a later blog post.
